Kim Min-hee Departs for Germany with Hong Sang-soo: Oversized Coat Couldn’t Hide Her Baby Bump
On February 19, media outlet BBS captured and reported on Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee boarding a Germany-bound flight at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1.
The published photos show Kim Min-hee wearing sunglasses and a coat, standing beside Hong Sang-soo, who was not wearing a hat and appeared fully exposed to the cameras. Despite wearing a large coat, Kim Min-hee’s prominent baby bump her “D-line” was clearly visible, indicating that she is nearing childbirth this spring.
Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee’s new film “What Does That Nature Say to You” has been selected for the competition category at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, which opened on February 13 (local time).
The couple was notably absent from the red carpet on the opening day. Given their 22-year age gap, the fact that they are an affair couple, and now expecting a child, speculation arose that they might be avoiding the public eye. However, with their departure photos surfacing, Kim Min-hee’s baby bump has now been fully revealed.
The last time the couple attended the Berlin International Film Festival together was in 2022, when Hong Sang-soo won the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize for his film “The Novelist’s Film”. At the time, Kim Min-hee joined him on stage at the closing ceremony as he delivered his acceptance speech.
Since their affair was exposed in 2016, followed by Hong Sang-soo filing for divorce from his wife, the couple has largely avoided the Korean public eye, instead focusing their activities on international film festivals. Kim Min-hee continues to work as both producer and actress in Hong Sang-soo’s films.
